The Good

Great design and includes LED lights at a great price!

The Ugly

LED lights are not plug and play with the factory JK fog lights harness.

Product Description

stock photoIf you are in the market for a Wrangler JK bumper, you currently have hundreds of options from a number of manufacturers. It can actually be quite overwhelming, especially since your front bumper is the first thing most people see on the road.

If you suffer from mod anxiety, (i.e. the process of jumping back and forth between different mods, but cannot make a decision), then I may have a solution for you; or maybe I’m about to make it worse with this excellent offering from Extreme Terrain. recently started carrying Barricade, which is a new brand to the market. We have installed the Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper with LED Lights on our 2012 JKR and we are very impressed with the bumper. The powder coating is well done, and unlike some other bumpers in this price range, it bolted right up to the frame without the need of a drill or the grinder to get the holes to line up.

There are two versions of this bumper available for the JK. The version we installed has LED lights in place of the factory fog lights, and this can be purchased for about $450 plus tax at Extreme Terrain. The other version has provisions for reusing the factory fog lights and can be shipped to your door for under $400 plus tax. The Barricade bumper is manufactured from 5/32″ mild steel plating and 2″ x 0.120″ tubing and carries a 3 Year Limited Warranty.

The bumper showed up at my garage wrapped up in a combination of foam, cardboard, black plastic and what appears to be an entire roll of packaging tape.

There was a little bit of powder coat that was chipped off during shipping. This is fairly typical for an 80lb package as UPS does not handle these kind of stuff too carefully. Luckily, this is easily fixable with a rattle can of truck bed liner or textured black paint.

The bumper comes with a nice set of 3/4″ D-rings and a wiring harness for the lights. The harness is not specific to our JK as the wires are incredibly long for this application. (Note, we connected these lights to the wires for our factory fog lights. However, you can easily connect these to a sPOD or internal switches as well.)

Wow! I am preparing to install my bumper and perused the internet for install help, what I found was of little use. Yours however is superb, THANK YOU!

Great write up. Any updates now that you’ve had it on for 7 months? Any rusting? Any other plus or minus points?

Hello! Hopefully you can still see these replies…

Did you have any info on how you relocated the solenoid inside the jeep? I noticed it’s not installed on top of the winch.

Has anyone found an aftermarket skid plate that can be installed with this bumber.
