Product Description

Paramount Restyling has a fairly new rear bumper for Jeep JK’s and for the money, it is quite good. I picked this bumper up few months ago and have been quite impressed with it so far. The fit and finish is very good, and the holes lined up nicely without the aid of my Dremel.

During the time I’ve had this bumper, it has slammed into rocks, saved my tub from a few trees, and done an excellent job of keeping my spare tire attached to the Jeep. The carrier is adjustable vertically and can easily clears a 37 to 40 inch tire. The powder coating is thick and has stood up well to the abuses of the trail.

However, not everything is perfect. The carrier does rattle a little and the handle takes some getting use to. My wife doesn’t like the handle at all and has difficulty opening and closing it; especially with a tire attached to it. Additionally, there is no over travel stop to keep the tire from swinging all the way around and smashing into the tub. I fixed this issue with a strategically placed bolt. All of these items can be overlooked when you consider these are priced in the $550 range for both the bumper AND the tire carrier.

I have the same bumper, I agree with your write up and it is a great bumper for the price. Have you found any way to reduce the rattle you get especially over large bumps and rough terrain?
